What is CBD?

CBD stands for cannabidiol, a compound only found in the cannabis plant. Unlike THC, CBD is non-intoxicating and does not result in a “high.”

CBD works on the endocannabinoid receptors prevalent throughout our entire body, including in the brain, immune and connective tissues, organs, and glands. Interestingly, it was cannabis that led to the discovery (and naming) of the endocannabinoid system. In 1988, researchers at the St. Louis University School of Medicine found mammalian brain receptors that responded to cannabis. We now know these receptors are the brain’s most abundant type of neurotransmitter receptors!

Our body naturally makes endocannabinoids, which are important for regulating memory, appetite, mood, stress, metabolism, sleep, pain sensation, immune function, and reproduction. CBD mimics or boosts the levels of these endocannabinoids in our bodies.

How much time will this take?

One week before your study product arrives, you’ll answer one question daily about your symptoms.

After your product arrives, you will use it for four weeks. We will send short surveys (<2 minutes to complete), asking about your usage a few times weekly.

●

Once a week, we will send a brief questionnaire (~10 minutes to complete) about your health.

Your answers will be confidential and no one will know your responses except for the research team.

How do I take participate in a Radicle study from home?

Your participation is 100% virtual.

The product will be shipped directly to your home. You will share your weekly feedback feedback and health effects through online surveys.
